Fashion is an art form, and it’s one that is always evolving. Over the course of the past few years, every platform from Netflix to Paramount Plus has developed its own TV shows about fashion, and for good reason. Millions of people from all over the world are constantly intrigued by the creation of garments, from the beginning stages of design, right down to the final production and creation of looks. Below, we’ve put together our list of the best TV shows about fashion.

Let’s take a closer look at them below – and be sure to add them to your watch list.

Styling Hollywood

Styling Hollywood is one of the most layered fashion shows out there. Created for Netflix, it combines two separate elements of design – fashion styling and interior design. It follows a couple, Jason Bolden and Adair Curtis, from JSN Studio. The pair work wonders when it comes to finding outfits for celebrities on the red carpet or re-doing the interior of their homes.

The first season was released in August 2019 and has since amassed a huge following. In this season, we see Jason and Adair help clients including Taraji P. Henson, Serena Williams, and Zazie Beetz.

Project Runway

Project Runway has been a staple on the fashion entertainment scene for almost two decades already. Ever since 2004, it’s been providing a platform for aspiring fashion designers to show off their skills, make connections and climb up the ranks of the fashion industry. It’s not just any regular reality television show. It also educates, enlightens, and entertains viewers, and gives them the opportunity to connect with contestants and form favorites.

Between 2004 and 2017, it was hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum and TV personality Tim Gunn. Once the two of them left the show, they were replaced by Karlie Kloss and designer Christian Siriano, who prior to becoming one of fashion’s most reputable names, won the fourth season of the show.

Next In Fashion

Next In Fashion is quite new to the genre of fashion entertainment, but this reality TV show certainly made its mark quite early on. The first season of the show premiered on Netflix in 2020 and highlighted the works of 18 established fashion designers. The designers all compete to win a cash prize, as well as an opportunity to launch their own clothing lines. This show is beautifully produced and offers a light, fun look at the fashion industry. Originally hosted by fashion icons Tan France and Alexa Chung, the latter was recently replaced by supermodel Gigi Hadid ahead of the second season’s premiere.

Making The Cut

Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn reunited for this reality competition show that sees established designers compete to establish themselves as the next big global fashion brand.

At the end of each week, the winning looks are made available to purchase online. The winner of this show receives a prize of US$ 1 million to invest in their brand and take it out into the world. This is money that they’d otherwise have to win playing several high stakes online blackjack real money games or working for many years for, so the prize outs them at a real advantage.
